Jaco Surf is now featuring Surf Camp Packages, complete with lessons, meals, transportation, accommodations, and even a massage to unwind after a week of surfing and fun!

Jaco is a small beachbreak with fun left and right peaks, you can surf almost the entire beach. It tends to close out when the waves are over head-high, or during dead low tide. Great beginner wave, or for a warm-up surf before tackling Nearby Hermosa or Escondida.

Jaco is one of the most bustling beach/surf towns in Costa, as there is actually something to do at night here. There are several bars and Discotechs, and the restaurants always seem to have a old surf video in the VCR. Very surfer friendly.

Surf Camp Jaco is a new and innovative surf camp which has highly qualified staff, so you can enjoy the full experience of surfing, while doing yoga and improving your Spanish. The surf camp is located on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, in the town of playa Jaco. We are the only beachfront surf camp in Jaco and also the only surf camp with a private boat available for tours and excursions. The courses offered at the camp are designed to let you have fun and learn while vacationing in Costa Rica. Perfect weather, warm water year-round, friendly native Spanish speaking people, an atmosphere of relaxation and gorgeous beaches form the perfect backdrop for studying Spanish, yoga, and surfing.

Surfing in Costa Rica

Costa Rica is known for being one of the countries with good conditions for surfing in the world. The Playa Jacó and Hermosa area is widely regarded as the most consistent surf in the country. There are a wide variety of breaks nearby and plenty of un-crowded waves for everyone. The camp has designed special surf programs that include guided surf trips to local spots as well as other field trips and activities. Lodging is included for all Surf Program participants. Surf programs are available in one, two, three and four week durations year-round and can also be combined with Spanish and Yoga classes.

The Playa Jaco area is well known to have great waves and warm water year-round, it is only natural that so many people come here to learn how to surf. The southern area is specifically for beginners and the northern area for advanced surfers.

Beginners:

Your first surf experience in the warm tropical waters of Costa Rica with the help of our friendly and experienced staff. You will learn the basics of paddling, standing, and turning, as well as wave selection and other fundamental skills. This is an experience you never forget

Intermediate and Advanced Surfers: People with previous surfing experience are taken on guided surf sessions in the Playa Jacó and Hermosa area. Let our local guides show you where the best breaks are so you can make the most of your surf vacation.

Special note : The tours camp staff can arrange additional field trips for students. Possibilities include: Sport fishing, A.T.V, sailing, kayaking, horseback riding,Costa Rica Zip line, sunset boat trips, white water rafting to name a few. In addition to helping you set up extra-curricular activities, we can help you plan your weekend trips to other destinations like Manuel Antonio National park, Arenal volcano, Montezuma & mal pais beaches and tortuga Island, these are other major tourist areas in Costa Rica.
